Resource forecasting increases the ability of an organization to proactively meet the needs of its future demand. But building (and maintaining!) an effective forecast requires working through mounds of data, conflicting inputs, and dynamic environments. Attendees will leave this session with sample process flows, reports, and recommendations to address these challenges and to increase effectiveness.

Bio

MayAnn Severud is consulting at Upsher-Smith Laboratories, LLC as a resource capacity management Sr Analyst. She first began to work with resource capacity management concepts as a Resource Manager at BORN Information Services, an IT and business process consulting firm. Later she moved into an IT Business Analyst position within CH Robinson Worldwide’s IT Service Management team. While RCM was not formalized when she began living it and working through processes to evolve within it, she has been utilizing the concepts of resource capacity management for the last 20 years. While the key components, Visibility/Prioritization/Optimization/Iteration, looked a little different in each organization due to business nuances and maturity levels, the underlying process itself was the same. As such, the discipline of RCM has followed the same evolution as her career; professional services to IT to development organizations.
